Turning lemons into lemonade

Unfortunately, not every wedding day can be a beautifully 70 degree day full of sunshine. Sometimes you get handed lemons (rain, lots and lots of rain), and need to make lemonade. Thats exactly what needed to be done during yesterday’s wedding at Saginaw Valley State University. The rain picked up right at the start of our group photos in the morning and never let up all day. I was able to sneak my couple out for just a few minutes during a time of lighter rain and was able to capture this beautiful back lit photo.

I only wish there had been more rain for even more shimmer in this shot but of course after a day of non-stop down poor, the one moment I was expecting to really use the rain for a photograph it slows down. Oh well, I hope there is not a ‘next time’ but I’m sure the opportunity to arise again.
